Once a year, a number of local college students receive a scholarship from an Erie-based organization known as the Wolves Club.
The scholarships were awarded at Gannon University Wednesday night.
But they didn’t just go to Gannon students. Students from other local college campuses also received the money. A total of more than $40,000 was given out.
The Wolves Club is an Italian-American civic organization that oversees endowment funds for students working toward their education and career goals.
Since 1956, the Erie Den of the Wolves has provided 620 scholarships and awarded 430 grants.
