Pennsylvania senators John Fetterman and Dave McCormick reacted to the United States’ and Israel’s joint strikes on Iran on Saturday morning.

Fetterman posted on X shortly after the attacks that president Donald Trump “has been willing to do what’s right and necessary to produce real peace in the region.”

During a joint interview in Washington, D.C., on Friday night, Fetterman said he “absolutely supports” everything the Trump administration has done so far involving Iran.

“All of us in the senate, we agree that we can never allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon,” Fetterman said. “The last time there was a treaty, that resulted in 900 pounds of just below weapons-grade uranium enrichment, so clearly that’s their goal, and if they have that goal, their top priority is to destroy the state of Israel. So, here’s where we are, and if you really want to be serious, then this is why I absolutely support everything the administration has done thus far.”

Sen. Dave McCormick also spoke in support of the military operation, calling Iran “the world’s number one sponsor of terror.”

McCormick argued that Iran has had the opportunity for a nuclear deal, but the nation has “rejected a path to peace and prosperity.”

“The President and the United States has given Iran every opportunity to stand down, every opportunity to stop killing its people,” McCormick said Friday. “Every opportunity to eliminate the threat, the nuclear threat, that could destroy America if we allow that to continue and persist. So, I think the best way to keep America safe is to make sure that the Mullahs and (Supreme Leader) Ayatollah Khamenei, the people that say they want to destroy America, don’t have the ability to do so.”
