BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Bethlehem Fire Department is honoring first responders who’ve gone above and beyond for the city.
Earlier today, the department held an annual memorial service at its fire station on Broad Street.
The ceremony began with an honor guard’s traditional displaying of the flags.
The captain later read off the names of this year’s local fallen firefighters in honor of their dedication to the city.
Bethlehem’s mayor spoke about the importance of their service.
“That’s an idea that seems to be going away. The 3-people who we are honoring here today represent that,” said Mayor William J Reynolds.
The Bethlehem Fire Department says it’s because of the firefighters that came before them that they’re able to continue to answer the call today.
