Read Across America Week kicked off on Monday.
It’s in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday and it’s celebrated to encourage early childhood literacy and a love of reading.
On Monday, our Elspeth Mizner made a visit to the Barber National Institute to read to a classroom full of three, four, and five year-olds. Officials at the Barber National Institute said said in today’s day and age with lots of technology, it’s important to encourage reading.
Several of our Erie News Now employees will be making visits into the classroom this week to different schools across the county.
