BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Northampton County district attorney’s office is seeking the death penalty for two men accused in the stabbing and burning death of a Bethlehem man in 2018.
Miles Harper and Yzire Jenkins-Rowe are accused of killing 18-year-old Tyrell Michael Holmes outside the Parkhurst Apartments in April 2018. His burning body was found next to a dumpster.
Initial 911 calls indicated it appeared a mannequin was on fire but it was quickly discovered it was Holmes’ body. The Northampton County coroner pronounced Holmes dead at the scene and later ruled that he died from smoke inhalation, burns and stab wounds.
The county is going for the death penalty because the two allegedly tortured Holmes and did it while committing other felonies such as arson and kidnapping, said county Chief Deputy District Attorney Patricia Fuentes Mulqueen.
Jenkins-Rowe also had previous felony convictions, Mulqueen said.
Two other suspects are still under investigation in Holmes’ death.
