ALLEN TWP., Pa.- A Northampton County company that specializes in environmental and industrial cleanups has a new owner.
Environmental Waste Minimization LLC (EWMI) has been acquired by Triumvirate Environmental of Somerville, Massachusetts.
EWMI was founded in 1995 and is based at 14 Brick Kiln Court in Allen Township. It later expanded to the West Coast and has an office in Bakersfield, California.
The company, alongside its affiliate Rapid Response LLC, offers services that include emergency spill response, waste transportation, remediation and soil management.
EWMI has been called into action in the Lehigh Valley and across the country.
For example: in 2022, the company responded to a major gasoline and diesel fuel spill from an overturned tractor trailer in a Bethlehem neighborhood. It also provided soil remediation at a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Groton, Connecticut; wetlands remediation at a former chemical research facility in Somerset, New Jersey; and demolition services at a former hydrochloric acid plant in Tamaqua, Schuylkill County.
EWMI’s West Coast operations began when it was hired for a massive demolition and decommissioning project in California.
Triumvirate Environmental was founded in 1988 and has been looking to grow its footprint.
“This acquisition represents an important milestone in Triumvirate’s continued growth,” said Tim Mooney, Chief Operating Officer of Triumvirate, in a news release. “EWMI has built a strong reputation for operational excellence, safety, and client service. By combining our capabilities, we are better positioned to deliver comprehensive, end-to-end environmental solutions to clients nationwide.”
