The buzz: Scranton Prep has won 12 consecutive games against the Trojans. North Pocono has already clinched the LFC Division I championship and the No. 1 seed for the District 2 Class 4A playoffs. Scranton Prep helped itself with a win last week against Jersey Shore and remains among the top four in the District 2 Class 4A power rating standings.
MID VALLEY (4-5) AT 3-LAKELAND (8-1)
When: Friday, 7 p.m.
Where: Lakeland Stadium.
Last: Mid Valley, 34-7 (2024).
The buzz: Lakeland has won 11 of the last 12 meetings with the Spartans. Lakeland is looking to win the LFC Division II title. Mid Valley could tie the Chiefs for the Division II championship with a win. Lakeland also needs a win to clinch the No. 1 seed for the District 2 Class 2A playoffs.
6-ABINGTON HEIGHTS (7-2) AT HAZLETON AREA (1-8)
When: Friday, 7 p.m.
Where: Harman-Geist Stadium.
Last: Abington Heights, 27-0 (2024).
The buzz: Abington Heights has qualified for the District 2 Class 5A playoffs and still has a chance at the No. 1 seed. Hazleton Area is an automatic qualifier for the District 2-4 Class 6A playoffs. Abington Heights is averaging 32.3 points per game in the last three weeks.
8-DUNMORE (6-3) AT WESTERN WAYNE (2-7)
When: Friday, 7 p.m.
Where: Sharkey Rosetti Sports Complex.
Last: Western Wayne, 42-7 (2024).
The buzz: Dunmore has qualified for the District 2 Class 2A playoffs and will be the No.3 seed. Dunmore also needs a win and a Lakeland loss to Mid Valley to share the Lackawanna Football Conference Division II championship. The Bucks are averaging 42.3 points per game during a three-game winning streak.
10-WALLENPAUPACK (3-6) AT 9-VALLEY VIEW (5-4)
When: Friday, 7 p.m.
Where: John Henzes/Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Last: Valley View, 34-13 (2024).
The buzz: Valley View has won six straight against Wallenpaupack. Valley View has clinched a berth in the District 2 Class 4A playoffs. Wallenpaupack needs a win to have a chance at qualifying for the District 2 Class 4A playoffs. Wallenpaupack is also in contention for an Eastern Conference game.
HONESDALE (3-6) AT WEST SCRANTON (2-7)
When: Friday, 7 p.m.
Where: Scranton Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Last: Honesdale, 34-20 (2024).
The buzz: Honesdale has won seven straight in the series. Honesdale is trying to stay alive for a District 2 Class 4A playoff berth or an Eastern Conference game. West Scranton remains in contention for a spot in the District 2 Class 5A playoffs, but still trails Wyoming Valley West (1-8) for the final spot.
OLD FORGE (2-7) AT CARBONDALE AREA (5-4)
When: Friday, 7 p.m.
Where: Andrew J. Cerra Sports Complex.
Last: Carbondale Area, 24-13 (2024).
The buzz: Carbondale Area snapped a 14-game losing streak to the Blue Devils in last season’s meeting. Carbondale Area is fighting for a spot in the District 2 Class 3A playoffs and is also in contention for an Eastern Conference playoff spot.
DELAWARE CC (3-5) AT MONTROSE (3-6)
When: Friday, 7 p.m.
Where: Bennett/Mullen Memorial Stadium.
Last: First meeting.
The buzz: Montrose defeated Renaissance Academy, 12-7, last week. The Meteors have won games against Susquehanna, Holy Redeemer, and Renaissance Academy this season. Delaware County Christian lost to Academy of the New Church last week. Quarterback Daniel Bartkow leads Delaware CC.
SUSQUEHANNA (0-9) AT HOLY CROSS (3-6)
When: Saturday, 1 p.m.
Where: Monsignor Crotti Field at St. Anthony’s Memorial Park.
Last: Susquehanna, 41-14 (2024).
The buzz: Susquehanna has won eight straight meetings against the Crusaders. Holy Cross is still alive for a berth in the District 2 Class 1A playoffs. The Crusaders are fifth in the district power rating standings with a rating of .369. They trail Nativity BVM, which had a rating of .387, and played Marian Catholic on Thursday night.
