Christi Dorece, Scranton Prep Coach says, “We knew we were out there more than we did last year. So I set the bar pretty high for them to beat a score number, i am not going to say what it was ?.
They ended up really close. So, we knew that we had to buckle down and nobody was going to hand it to us. So we went out there and it exceeded my expectations. “
Bob Ide asks, What’s more surprising that you won Ben, or the score you guys put up?
Ben Boyanoski, Scranton Prep Senior answers, “ I think the score we put up, we always knew we had it in us. But to actually do in the state tournament feels great. We put in a lot of hard work, and I feel like we all came together on the best day possible, an broke a state record. “
Cole Powell, PIAA state champion says. “I had a lot of drivers. I got in a lot of fairways. I hit a lot of greens in regulation and that really helped with the tough conidtions of heavy winds,
So yea that was the main part. “ “
Ide asks,Once it all sets in to win these two medals. What’s it mean to you?
Powell responds “ It feels great. To be able to win as an individual is one thing but win as a team is another, it feels great. “
Prep will return some of their top players next and are looking for a three peat.
