BOYERTOWN, Pa. – State Representative for Pennsylvania’s 130th District David Maloney (R-Berks) has endorsed his potential successor after announcing his retirement last month.
In a press release Saturday Maloney said, “I am proud to endorse Melissa Brewer as candidate for 130th District. She has experience needed in a place such as the General Assembly and she is grounded in our community.”
According to a press release from February 24 when she announced her candidacy, Brewer is a lifelong resident of Berks County, has served as a teacher and administrator, and is a conservative Republican.
Maloney, who is the 9th Pennsylvania lawmaker to announce they will retire at the end of the session said, “I deeply appreciate my constituency and the interactions I have had in my service and support of their needs. Standing up for the sportsmen, our wildlife, and exposing government corruption are all things I am glad to have brought to light. I will continue that mission whether I hold public office or not. “
