WEST CALN TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Chester County officials say that a state trooper was shot Sunday night during a traffic stop.

Chester County Commissioner Eric Roe posted on Facebook saying that a trooper was shot during a traffic stop in West Caln Township. 

“Chester County’s brave police officers put their lives on the line for us every day. I thank all of them for their extraordinary bravery and sacrifice. May God save this state trooper,” Roe said in the post.

It’s not clear if anyone has been arrested in connection with the shooting or the condition that the trooper is in.

Chester County Department of Emergency Services posted on X at 9:44 p.m. saying that Route 10 (Compass Road) between Hill Road and Lammey Road in West Caln Township is closed due to a police investigation.
