Two separate shootings in Philadelphia on Monday afternoon left a child and a teen girl hospitalized, according to the police department.
Child shot in North Philly
A child was hospitalized after being shot on Monday afternoon, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.
The shooting happened on the 5000 block of North 10 Street in North Philadelphia just before 4:30 p.m. on March 8, police said.
The child was taken to a nearby hospital and placed in stable condition, police explained.
No arrests have been made yet in connection to this shooting.
Teen girl shot in the chest
About half an hour later, a teen girl was shot in the chest inside an apartment in Northeast Philadelphia, police said.
This shooting happened on the 7000 block of Langdon Street around 5:01 p.m. in the Rhawnhurst section of the city, according to police.
A 19-year-old girl was shot one time in the chest and rushed to a nearby hospital by medics, officials explained. Her condition is unknown.
A man was taken into custody in connection to this shooting, police reported.
The Philadelphia Police Department’s Shooting Investigation Group is investigating both of these incidents.
