Two nights after reaching a career milestone in kills, Lauren Beamer led Western Wayne to a 3-1 (28-26, 26-24, 17-25, 37-35) win over Dunmore in the District 2 Class 2A quarterfinals.

Beamer, who scored her 1,000th kill in the regular-season finale Tuesday, had 20 kills and added 12 digs and three aces for the Lady ‘Cats, who advance to the semifinals to play No. 2 Holy Redeemer on Tuesday as part of a doubleheader.

Olivia Haines contributed 14 kills and three blocks, Hannah DeStefano had 10 kills, and Abbie Washine had 30 assists for Western Wayne (11-9).

Amanda Dempsey, a senior finishing her career, had 10 kills and 17 digs to lead Dunmore. Sophia Denunzio had nine kills, six points and seven digs; Michelle Nidoh had 12 kills, 10 service points and four blocks; Elena Piepoli had 27 digs; Katelyn Henry had 24 assists; and Emma Costanzo had six kills and seven blocks for the Lady Bucks (11-5).

Holy Redeemer 3, Lakeland 0: At Holy Redeemer, Gillian Parsons had eight kills and nine digs to lead Holy Redeemer to a three-set sweep of Lakeland in the District 2 Class 2A quarterfinals, 25-6, 25-11, 25-7.

Reese Woytovich had nine points, one ace and three digs, while teammate Theresa Rudloff added four points and one ace. Olivia Dutko finished with six points and four assists for the Royals (18-3).

For Lakeland (6-11), Abby Gretzula had three kills, four points, three digs and two assists, and teammate Nora Crambo added four digs. Mia Cooper finished with five points and two digs.

Lake-Lehman 3, Montrose 1: At Lake-Lehman, Alexandra Patla had nine kills to lead the No. 4 Black Knights to a four-set win over No. 5 Montrose in the District 2 Class 2A quarterfinals, 25-15, 25-8, 20-25, 25-22.

Giolla Biscotto had 25 assists for Lake-Lehman, and Patla added six blocks. Teammate Abby Fugok had six aces and six points in the win. The Black Knights (12-7) advance to the semifinals and will play the winner of Friday’s Elk Lake at Blue Ridge quarterfinal.

For Montrose (11-6), Sadie Jones had nine kills and Ava Bell had six aces, seven kills and 10 service points.

Class 4A

Second-seeded Delaware Valley had a pair of starters reach milestones in a 3-0 (25-6, 25-13, 25-12) sweep of No. 7 West Scranton in a District 2-4 Class 4A quarterfinal match.

Makayley Hughes recorded the 1,000th assist of her career, and Kate Prior reached the 500th dig of hers in the Lady Warriors’ win.

Paris Machado and Cece Dickerson each had nine kills for Delaware Valley (13-4), which advanced to the semifinals and will play at Hazleton Area on Monday at 6 p.m.

West Scranton finished 3-16.

Third-seeded Hazleton Area (9-10) swept Scranton, 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-17) in the quarterfinals.

No. 5 Wilkes-Barre Area (7-10) defeated fourth-seeded Wyoming Valley West, 3-0 (26-24, 25-15, 25-13), in the other Class 4A quarterfinal and will play at top-seeded Williamsport on Monday at 6 p.m.
