Two young people were killed and two others are in critical condition after their car crashed into another car on Monday night, Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

According to Small, a Nissan with at least four people was traveling west on Godfrey Street in the Germantown neighborhood at around 8 p.m. when it struck a Honda going south on 20th Street.

After the initial collision, the Nissan spun out of control and struck a parked box truck before coming to a stop around a block away, Small said.

When first responders arrived at the crash scene, they found three people who were in the Nissan on the roadway, Small said.

“There were three victims laying on Godfrey,” Small said.

One of the people taken to the hospital was pronounced dead, and the two others taken to the hospital are in critical condition, Small said.

The victim who died at the hospital was described as a juvenile, and the two critically hurt are 16 and 20 years old, Small said.

A fourth person in the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene, and he has been described as a teenager, according to Small.

A 72-year-old woman was driving the Honda and she has been taken to the hospital in stable condition, Small said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Philadelphia Police Department, and Small said they have already obtained several surveillance camera videos of the incident.
