Jordan Davis this week officially signed a three-year extension that will keep him under contract with the Eagles through the 2029 season.

And now we know all the details of the deal, courtesy of OverTheCap:

• The three-year extension is worth $78 million, which comes out to $26 million per season in the extension years. That ties Davis with Milton Williams as the second-highest paid defensive tackle in the NFL behind just Chris Jones ($31.75M). The deal includes just under $65 million guaranteed and $38.938 million fully guaranteed at signing.

• While the APY is usually calculated by the new years on a deal, Davis was set to play the 2026 season on the fifth-year option of his rookie contract, which had a salary and cap hit of just under $13 million. So if you factor in that year, then Davis’s APY still comes out to around $22.75 million over the next four seasons, which would put him just outside the top 10.

• There was incentive for the Eagles to get this deal done now because it lowers the cap hit for Davis in 2026 from nearly $13 million to just over $5 million, saving roughly $8 million in cap space.

Here’s a look at Davis’s cap hits during the length of the contract:

2026: $5,072,000
2027: $8,552,600
2028: $13,936,600
2029: $18,879,600

The Eagles minimized Davis’s cap hits over the next four years by keeping his base salaries very low and paying out most of his money in bonuses, which can be prorated over the length of a contract for cap purposes. The Eagles added four void years on this deal to help with that.

• This is the way the Eagles do pretty much all of their contracts these days. It’s a kick-the-can method that only works when a team is willing to front the cash. If Davis plays out this contract, it will leave over $44 million in dead cap for the 2030 season because all those prorated bonus amounts in the void years accelerate.

• Davis received a signing bonus of $18.75 million and his salaries for 2026 and 2027 are guaranteed, as well as his option bonus of just over $17 million in 2027. And if he’s on the roster on the third day of the league year in 2027, his 2028 salary of $24.195 million will be fully guaranteed. There’s also an option bonus in 2029 for another $24 million.
