It’s the most wonderful time of the year for college basketball fans with March Madness set to begin. This year, the Philadelphia region will play a big role in the tournament with five teams from the area playing in the big dance as well as games set to take place at Xfinity Mobile Arena in South Philly.

Which teams from the Philly, Pennsylvania and South Jersey region will play in the tournament?
On the men’s side, Villanova University, the University of Pennsylvania and the Lehigh University basketball teams will all take part in the big dance.
On the women’s side, Villanova University and Princeton University will take part in the big dance.
What games will be played in Philadelphia?
The following first round games will take place at Xfinity Mobile Arena in South Philadelphia:
The 7th seeded UCLA will take on the 10th seeded UCF on Friday, March 20, at 7:25 p.m. ET.
The 2nd seeded UConn will take on the 15th seeded Furman on Friday, March 20, at 10 p.m. ET.
Philadelphia will also host Round of 32 games but those matchups and times have not yet been determined. This article will be updated with those games once they’re scheduled.
