OBITUARY

Marion (Pelick) Figula, 92, of Glen Hope, PA, formerly of Scranton, passed away peacefully at home on March 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Praska) Pelick. Marion was a graduate of West Scranton High School and later earned her Real Estate License from the University of Scranton.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Charles S. Figula, who passed away in 1974. The couple married on May 23, 1954, and shared a loving life together until his passing.

Marion built a diverse and fulfilling career. She worked for a prominent real estate firm in the Scranton area and spent many years as a Consultant for Home Interiors, where she enjoyed helping families create warm, welcoming homes. She also owned and helped manage Style Signs of Scranton alongside her sons, Allen and David. Later in life, she found great purpose assisting seniors as an Employment and Training Assistant with Experience Works of Scranton.

A woman of faith, Marion had attended SS. Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church in Scranton. She found joy in gardening, decorating, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother whose kindness, strength, and gentle spirit touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

Marion is survived by her children, Janet Button and husband Glenn, of Clarks Summit; Allen Figula and wife Donna, of Glen Hope; and Doris Rentrope of Taylor. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Charles, she was preceded in death by her son David Figula; and her siblings John Pelick, Olga Tomacick, Nicholas Pelick, Ann Smorey, and George Pelick.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 18th, at noon at the Nicholas Chomko Funeral Home, 1132 Prospect Ave., South Scranton. Interment will follow at SS. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Scranton. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday morning 11am until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to SS.
