Officials said four people were hurt — including a firefighter — in a rowhome fire that kept fire crews busy early Tuesday along High Street in Philadelphia’s East Germantown community.
According to fire officials, three people at the home were hurt in a fire that erupted at a property along the 500 block of High Street at about 7:11 a.m. on Tuesday.
They were all taken to a nearby hospital where, officials said, one person was listed in critical condition and two others were listed in stable condition.
Also, officials said, while responding to the incident, a firefighter was injured when he suffered burns at the scene.
He was hospitalized in stable condition, officials said.
When crews arrived at the scene, fire officials said, both the first and second floors of the property were engulfed in flames.
As of about 7:45 a.m., crews were still working to extinguish the flames.
Also, officials did not immediately provide additional identifying information on those injured in this incident, nor did they say how the fire started.
But, an investigation is underway, officials said.
