PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Hip-hop superstar and entrepreneur JAY-Z will be returning to the stage this spring to headline one of the Philadelphia’s most popular music festivals.

Organizers announced on Tuesday that the Grammy-winning music mogul will headline the 2026 Roots Picnic alongside the Roots on Saturday, May 30.

Tickets go on sale on Wednesday, March 16, at 10 a.m.

Early access presale tickets are already available at RootsPicnic.com with the code ROOTS26.

On Friday, organizers announced that the 2026 Roots Picnic would be moving from the Mann Center to Belmont Plateau in Fairmount Park, following complaints from fans who attended last year’s concerts.

This year will include an upgraded Roots Picnic app, improved messaging services for better communication with fans, and a second entrance to help reduce lines and speed up entry.

The 2026 Roots Picnic is taking place on Saturday, May 30, and Sunday, May 31.

A headliner for the second day and the rest of the musical lineup have not yet been announced.
