A community conversation comes to Erie focusing on the expansion of fair access to housing and employment for those with and without a criminal record. The Erie County Human Relations Commission (ECHRC) will be hosing the conversation titled, “Advancing Fair Access to Housing and Employment.”

The discussion will take place on March 23 beginning at 1 p.m. in the Waldron Campus Center room 219. Antonio Howard will moderate the conversation.

The discussion will touch on common barriers faced by those searching for housing or employment, outlines of civil rights protections, and the pathways toward equitable opportunities.

Community members, advocates, and professionals committed to addressing issues of discrimination while promoting fair access for all. The public is welcomed to attend especially those interested in civil rights, second-chance opportunities, housing access, workforce development, and community equity.

“Access to housing and employment are critical foundations for stability and community well-being,” said Dr. Kristy Gnibus, Director of the Erie County Human Relations Commission. “This event is an opportunity to educate the community, discuss real barriers people face, and explore solutions that support fairness and opportunity for everyone in Erie.”
