OBITUARY

Delores (Dee) Decker, 84, Spring Brook Twp., passed away peacefully at home on March 12, 2026 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Born on July 7, 1941, in Scranton, PA, Delores lived a life centered on family, kindness, and quiet strength. She was known for her warm heart, steady support for those she loved, and the comfort she brought to friends and family throughout her life.

She shared a devoted marriage with her beloved husband of 60 years, Paul Decker, and together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories. Their bond was one of deep partnership and unwavering support. In her later years, as she bravely faced Parkinson’s disease, Paul remained faithfully by her side, caring for her with quiet strength, patience, and enduring love.

Family was always at the center of her life, and she took great pride in watching her children and grandchildren grow. She is survived by her husband, Paul Decker; her three children, Kevin Decker and his wife Angel, Jeffrey Decker, and Pamela DeNaples and her husband Dr. Louis; and eight cherished grandchildren who brought her immense joy. She also leaves behind extended family members and many friends who will remember her kindness and gentle spirit.

Despite the challenges of Parkinson’s disease, Delores faced each day with resilience and grace. Her strength and love will remain an enduring example to those who knew her.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to those who cared for her during her illness and to all the friends and relatives who offered their support, especially Penny, the Allied Home Hospice care team, and Dr. William Dempsey.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who loved her.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Eulalia’s Parish by Rev. David Cappelloni.

Interment took place in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the Vanston and James Funeral Home, Scranton.
