ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — Altoona-based convenience chain Sheetz announced plans to hire more than 1,500 people — 500 of which will be at Pennsylvania locations.

Sheetz, ranked second on the most recent “Best Workplaces in Retail,” will host hiring events with on-the-spot interviews at each of its 315 locations in the Commonwealth. The events take place Wednesday, March 28, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

As part of a broader hiring effort across more than 810 locations, the 500 new Pennsylvania employees are part of Sheetz’s goal to hire 1,540 people across its seven-state footprint.

Key roles Sheetz is hiring for are:

Store Team Members: Prepare Made-to-Order® food in the kitchen, provide Total Customer Focus at the register, and maintain store cleanliness.

Supervisors: Prioritize in-store tasks, delegate effectively, and foster a positive work culture.

Assistant Managers: Lead and manage day-to-day store operations in the manager’s absence, ensure fully staffed stores, and foster positive relationships with employees and the community.
