Today, dozens of community leaders across the county listened and asked questions to two newly elected female officeholders — and a former trend‑setting one.
Today’s event, Women Leaders Shaping Erie, held at the Erie Yacht Club, featured the new Erie County Executive and Erie Mayor, joined by former Erie Mayor Joyce Savacchio.
I had the privilege to emcee the event and ask them questions about their leadership, professional journeys, mentors, and challenges.
Some of those questions surrounded the importance of having a community college in Erie County.
The event — hosted by the college — also included a chance for people to donate to and build more scholarship funds for EC3 students.
A current student talked about the positive impact the school has made in her life.
