PITTSBURGH PA — A man was shot Friday during an altercation with two other men on a street in the city’s Point Breeze section.

Just before 11:30 a.m., police, EMS and fire department officials were dispatched to the 200 block of East End Avenue for reports of an argument followed by shots fired.

While en route, officers were informed by dispatch that there was a shooting victim. Arriving officers located a victim in the 7700 block of Brashear Street. The man was conscious, alert, and speaking with officers and medics.

The victim sustained a gunshot wound to his back/shoulder area and a minor graze wound to his chin. He was transported by Pittsburgh EMS to an area hospital in serious, but stable condition.

Witnesses described to officers that there was an altercation on the street between the male victim and two other males prior to the shooting.

The incident resulted in a brief lockdown of the nearby Environmental Charter School.

The Crime Scene Unit responded to process all available evidence.

The investigation is ongoing.
