PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — We’ve all been to theme parties – an ’80s bash, a tropical luau – but this one is especially close to our hearts at 6abc.
Sarah Banach of Bustleton threw a birthday celebration, and the theme was Action News.
“Well, they know that my husband is a huge fan, and literally it’s the only news show that’s allowed to be aired in our house,” Banach said.
Her husband, Michael, isn’t just a fan – he’s a superfan. He never misses a newscast and keeps track of everything: who got married and who worked a double shift.
So when it came time to celebrate his 40th birthday, the choice was obvious: an Action News-themed party.
Guests sang the Action News theme when Michael walked in. Sarah even made face cutouts of anchors and reporters.
“I did some crafting, and I took the 6abc logo and the Action News logo and put that on myself,” she said. “I made koozies, and then I went a step further and made faces for all of us to have.”
“Literally, it’s the only news show that’s allowed to be aired in our house,” she added. “I don’t think he loves anything more. We tease him – I think Action News goes above us, goes above me and our boys.”
