OBITUARY
John R. Fox, Sr., 78, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 16, 2026, with his loving family by his side.
Born on April 9, 1947, in Scranton, he was the son of the late James D. Fox and C. Helen (Swingle) Fox. John was married to the love of his life, Margaret Pudgie (Byerly) Fox. Together they recently celebrated 60 years of marriage.
John was employed for many years as an over the road truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, baseball, campfires and playing horseshoes, but most of all he cherished the time he spent with his family. John came from a large family and was one of 25 children.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Margaret Pudgie Fox; his daughters Denise Shaffer and Paulette Fox and her companion Joseph Fisher, all of Moscow; three grandchildren, Larry A. Shaffer and Katrina M. O’Neill, both of Moscow, and Garrett J. Fisher of King of Prussia; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, John R. Fox Jr., and many brothers and sisters.
The viewing will be held on Friday, March 20, from 10:00 am to 12:00 Noon at Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, LLC, 3 First St. in Spring Brook Twp. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park in Elmhurst Twp.
