READING, Pa. – The Reading District Libraries’ DOR Committee announced the return of its Nature Stroll & Roll series this spring, offering welcoming, accessible outdoor experiences for patrons of all ages and abilities.

A press release from the committee says building on the success of last year’s inaugural events, the series continues to grow with two new opportunities for community members to explore nature together.

This year’s events will take place:

Tuesday, April 1 at 2:00 p.m. at Exeter Community Library’s Nature Trail & StoryWalk

Monday, May 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Berks Nature, 575 St. Bernardine Street, Reading

Nature Stroll & Roll is an all-ages program created with accessibility and mobility in mind. Whether participants are walking, rolling with a wheelchair, using a cane or walker, or simply prefer a slower-paced outing, these events offer a safe and enjoyable way to experience the outdoors. Each session features a gentle, guided stroll along smooth paths, with opportunities to pause, explore, and connect, the release says.

The committee says in addition to the walk itself, participants can enjoy nature-themed activities in shaded or seated areas—ideal for those who prefer to relax, socialize, or participate at their own pace.

“We know not everyone has easy access to outdoor spaces or feels comfortable navigating them alone,” said Marissa Guidara, Youth Services District Consultant with Reading District Libraries. “Libraries can help bridge that gap by offering a supportive, low-pressure way for people to get outside and enjoy it together.”

These programs reflect the Reading District Libraries’ commitment to dignity, respect, opportunity, and access, helping ensure all community members feel welcome and supported—both inside the library and out!
