BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Fishers — a township landmark — is making a comeback.

The iconic banquet hall on Street Road — the place where people have rung in the new year, celebrated weddings, baby showers, and birthdays, or shared a meal — is getting ready to open its doors once again.

Fishers, which was listed for sale three years ago, is reimagining itself after an extensive 18-month renovation, said the Bensalem Economic Development Corp.

“Fisher’s is getting ready to reopen its doors with a completely reimagined look, including a new seafood buffet on the first floor and refreshed event and catering spaces upstairs,” the BEDC said.

Led by Tommy Liu of Royal Seafood & Grill and King Seafood in partnership with building owner Jamal Awad, the Bensalem staple is set to begin an exciting new chapter.

An opening date has yet to be scheduled.

“We’re thrilled to see this iconic local business coming back to life,” the BEDC said.

Fishers billed itself on its website as “Bucks County’s and the Greater Philadelphia Area’s premier banquet hall and nightclub.”

“From bridal showers and restaurant dining to large wedding receptions and a world-class nightclub, our event space complex lets you celebrate your most memorable days and unforgettable nights,” its website states.

The 64,400-square-foot property, which sits on 3.2 acres, was listed by NAI Mertz, a Mount Laurel, N.J.-based commercial real estate company, as a “redevelopment opportunity.”
