U.S. Marshals have announced the arrest of Rashiem Russell, a 29-year-old from West Philadelphia, in connection with an attack on a crossing guard outside an elementary school in Darby Borough, Pennsylvania.Russell was taken into custody in Darlington, South Carolina, and is awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania.Police believe he had a close family member in that area.According to the Darby Borough Police Department, the attack happened around 3:50 p.m. Monday near South Sixth and Walnut streets outside Walnut Street Elementary School.”A crossing guard, who works daily to keep our children and neighbors safe, was assaulted at this location,” Darby Borough police said.Police believe Russell became impatient with the guard, who had stopped traffic for kids on a bus.
