Erie, PA. – State Street was turned into a sea of green and gold this weekend at the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade. From local businesses to furry friends, Erie community members created an amazing show. This photospread captures the Irish spirit from this fun event!

Engine 11

The parade started with lively energy from the Erie Fire Department’s wailing alarms. The gleaming red engine led the way, with more fun to follow. (Bailey Clements)

Members of the local Irish Cultural Society led this horse-drawn carriage. They had the crowd’s attention as soon as the horses’ hooves were heard clopping down the road. (Bailey Clements)

Community Pride

Many local businesses showed out this year. E-Carlin had a whole convoy of green trucks, this one with a giant leprechaun on top! (Bailey Clements)

Jolly Jesters

There were some performers strolling during the parade as well. This clown was from a local group named Jolly Jesters. Some of his friends were doing hoola-hoop tricks and cartwheels. (Bailey Clements)

Gem City Ren Fest

The crowd was graced with a special appearance by a local Queen from the Gem City Ren Fest. (Bailey Clements)

Ancient Order of Hibernians

Another local Erie group, the Ancient Order of Hibernians are an Irish Catholic fraternal organization. Their members represented the group in their Irish sashes and jeff caps. (Bailey Clements)

Victor E. Knight!

Of course, Gannon was also at the parade! We brought Victor along with us to hype up the crowd. (Bailey Clements)

Because You Care

Adorable furry friends were parading as well! From Because You Care Inc., volunteers walked these puppies down the street. (Bailey Clements)

Best Dressed

A personal favorite, this car was covered in green and gold. With the giant duck and a real leprechaun, it takes best dressed in my opinion. (Bailey Clements)
