SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — On Saturday afternoon, Scranton’s Steamtown Marketplace got thrifty.

The first themed pop up of the year, Scranton Public Market at Steamtown Marketplace is back with the big thrift and vintage market. The second level of the mall saw over 30 vendors sell everything rare, retro, and repurposed from clothes, to posters, and even cookware and decorations. Hundreds throughout the day picked out their next new look and for organizers, it was great to see so many back out and about after a heavy winter.

Cristin Powers, the event director for Scranton Public Market, said, “I think everyone here is excited and like on the admin side, but also the general public, just to have something to do in Scranton downtown specifically, and to be reimagining the mall, as this different, vibrant space that we can utilize to host all these different events.”

The Scranton Public Market aims to host themed store spaces and events every month. April 18th is the next event, and it’s themed around Earth Day with many plant-based food vendors. May will see an office themed event with the rest of the year’s lineup still to be announced.
