So how did the Lady Royals fare against Denison University.

Scranton played one of their worst games of the season scoring only 11 points at halftime and trailing by 8.

Scranton came back with a 3rd quarter run to take back the lead as both teams went back and forth.

But the same shooting problems that plagued them in the first half showed up again in the 4th quarter.

Denison ends the game on a 16-2 run and ending the Lady Royals championship bid. 55-41.

The Lady Royals shot only 20 percent for the game and made just 7 three pointers.

Kaci Kranson, Scranton Senior(Holy Cross), says “It was definitely frustrating. Our shots weren’t going in, but, we’ve been in moments like that, throughout the whole season and during halftime, we kind of just grouped together and, kind of just talked it over and said, well, we’ve been through adversity throughout the whole season.

And, you know, we knew the second half, our shots were going to fall. But just staying positive and keeping our heads up, was kind of the main goal coming out into the second. “

Kaeli Romanowski, Scranton Senior (Western Wayne) added, “Yeah. I think we preach it all the time. Tenacity and togetherness. So I think just going to the locker room, we were thinking, yeah, that was not our best basketball.

We probably couldn’t have played there much worse. That’s a credit to Denison. They took us all out of sorts with their pressure and their style of defense. But I think our just our ability to stay together and try and create the disruptions that we wanted to create, but just sticking together and knowing that we had each other’s backs was critical. “

Ben O’Brien, Scranton Coach says“, We gave it, you know, everything we had from and we’ve been doing that all season and really it starts with Kaeli and Kaci. They just have been incredible leaders on the court. Off the court. They left it all out there on the court.

I was super proud of of them and the entire team for continuing to overcome adversity throughout the game. And a lot of that, again, was caused by Denison defensively and and they’re just a really, really good team. But we took a couple punches, but we kept on getting back up. And that happened sort of throughout the course of the game.

And to see our players respond, was not surprising at all. Our players have responded like that all season. We just obviously came up a little bit short. “

Scranton ends the season at 32 and 1.
