Overnight lane restrictions will in place on both the northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 81 in Ashley and Wilkes-Barre Twp. beginning Sunday and continuting into November for structural borings.
Lane restrictions will be in place overnight on Interstate 81 on the following nights:
Interstate 81 northbound and southbound between Exit 159 (Nuangola) and 164 (Nanticoke) from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly from Oct. 26 through Oct. 30.
Interstate 81 southbound passing lane between Exit 165 (Wilkes-Barre/Mountain Top) and Exit 159 (Nuangola) from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Oct. 26 through Nov. 12.
 Interstate 81 southbound driving lane between Exit 164 (Nanticoke) and Exit 159 (Nuangola) from 8 p.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 9 through Nov. 12.
When encountering a work zone, drivers are advised to follow the posted speed limit, turn on headlights, pay close attention to signs and flaggers, and avoid all distractions. In high-traffic locations, motorists are encouraged to use both lanes of travel to the merge point and take turns merging into the open lane.
