PITTSBURGH, PA — There is an enhanced risk of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening in the Pittsburgh area.

According to the National Weather Service, potential baseball-sized hail and damaging wind gusts of as mush as 75 mph are the primary threats.

Tornadoes also are possible.

The watch impacts more than 5 million people throughout Western and Central Pennsylvania and portions of Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland.

Behind the cold front triggering the storms, expect sharply colder temperatures in Pittsburgh on Monday. Temps reached the mid-80s today; the anticipated high tomorrow is 46.
