After winning the Super Bowl in 2024, the Philadelphia Eagles were seen as one of the favorites to go back-to-back in 2025. However, from the opening tip of the year, the Eagles felt off, and they ended up losing in the wild-card round of the playoffs at home.
So, entering the offseason. Philadelphia is determined to get themselves back to true title contention. The team is still led by star quarterback and former Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts, giving them some legitimacy under center.
But for Hurts to lead this group next year, the offense will need to be more consistent over the course of the year. Far too often last year, the Eagles offense was the cause of the problem, and in the playoffs, it ended up costing them.
Former NFL quarterback Sean Mannion is now the new offensive coordinator for the Eagles, and it will be up to him to get this group building toward. But the Eagles front office has to add more to the mix, and if they can, the sky could be the limit for this team in 2026.
TWSN Answers:
The Philadelphia Eagles fell short of winning back-to-back Super Bowls in 2025.
Something felt off with Philadelphia all year long, and they now enter a crucial offseason.
Making sure that the offense is all on the same page for next season will be key for this team.
TWSN Quick Facts:
Team: Philadelphia Eagles
Rumored player: Tyreek Hill
Position: Wide receiver
Contract: Free agent
Tyreek Hill: Philadelphia Eagles Free Agent Target
One option for the Eagles could be to bring in veteran wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who remains a free agent. Hill was let go of by the Miami Dolphins earlier in the offseason, and he could be a solid addition to this Philadelphia offense.
Hill did suffer a brutal injury early in 2025, and it forced him to miss the majority of the season. The veteran wideout suffered a knee dislocation and multiple torn ligaments, including the ACL, and he has been rehabbing this issue.
Putting the speed of Hill into the Eagles offense could be fun, and Hurts would have more reliable options to throw the ball too. Hill has also won a Super Bowl before, so he understands what it takes to get it done, and he’d be on the same page as this entire team.
The Eagles have been dealing with trade rumors around star wideout AJ Brown, and the team may still trade him at some point. Bringing Hill into the mix would give the Eagles some insurance at the wide receiver position, and he can be a game-changer on the field.
Either way, the Eagles should bring Hill into the fold, even if they don’t trade Brown, giving them one of the most dynamic wide receiving groups in the NFL. Opposing teams wouldn’t know how to cover this unit, and it would open up passing lanes for the other players on the field.
Of course, Hill will need to come back healthy, but if he does, this could be a massive move for the Eagles. There is no timetable on the return of Hill, but since his injury occurred early in the year, there is a chance that he can get back on the field for Week 1 of the 2026 season..
Tyreek Hill 2025 Stats
Hill was limited to just four games this season due to his injury early in the year. But in his limited time on the field, he caught 21 passes for 265 yards and one touchdown.
