Edward G. Kelly, age 66, passed away March 19, 2026. Beloved son of the late Joseph and Doreen (Nee Clarke) Kelly.
Ed is survived by his loving siblings Eileen Walsh (Tony), Marty Kelly (Stephanie), Tom Kelly (Tracy), and Dan Kelly (Monica), as well as, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Kelly Jr (Sur. Shirlee).
Ed will be remembered as a man whose heart never strayed far from his roots. A lifelong resident and proud son of Upper Darby, he carried a deep love for his hometown that shaped who he was and how he connected with others.
Ed was a familiar and beloved presence on the sidelines, rarely missing a Flynn’s softball game or a local bar league matchup. Whether cheering on friends, offering encouragement, or simply enjoying the game, he brought energy and loyalty to every field he visited.
From a young age, Ed developed a passion for wrestling and a deep appreciation for the music of the 1960s and 1970s—especially The Monkees, whose songs were a constant soundtrack in his life.
Above all, Ed will be remembered as the ultimate Philadelphia Flyers fan—truly the #1 in the world. His devotion to the team was unmatched; he could rival any statistician with his knowledge of players, games, and history. His home was filled with photos of Flyers greats, reflecting a lifetime of admiration. Ed never missed a game—whether he was watching practices in Voorhees, attending live matchups, cheering from his living room, or listening intently on the radio.
In honoring Ed’s memory, family and friends are invited to celebrate his life the way he would have wanted—with passion and pride. Please feel free to wear any Flyers gear in his honor.
Relatives and friends are invited to Edwards viewing on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA. A second viewing will take place at the funeral home from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 28, 2026 followed by his funeral mass at St. Laurence Church, 8245 West Chester Pike at 10:30 AM. Interment at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
