WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING CO. (WOLF) — Students and staff at Pennsylvania College of Technology were briefly told to shelter in place Monday morning before officials determined there was no active threat.
According to the college, the initial alert was issued around 8:40 a.m., instructing those on campus to remain in place until further notice.
Less than 20 minutes later, at approximately 8:59 a.m., the shelter-in-place order was lifted. In an update, the school said there was no ongoing danger.
Despite the all-clear, the college announced that classes for the day have been canceled. Officials say more information about the situation will be released.
Pennsylvania State Police confirmed they are aware of the incident and expect to provide additional details.
