READING, Pa. – A Reading man is facing serious charges after allegedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend multiple times inside a local store.
57-year-old Jose Dejesus is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and related offenses.
On Saturday, Reading Police were called to the Dollar Tree store in the 1100 block of Rockland Street for a report of a woman stabbed in the neck and bleeding.
Arriving officers located the female victim in the rear of the store.
According to court documents, the victim told police her ex-boyfriend, later identified as Dejesus, entered the store, immediately headed towards her and then stabbed her as she attempted to flee into a storage. Authorities say the victim was stabbed in the back, shoulder and neck area.
Police say a second victim was allegedly cut by Dejesus on the head while trying to wrestle the suspect off of the female victim.
Online court records list Dejesus as in custody at Berks County Jail after failing to post $500,000 bail.
