Butler Twp. Police have filed charges against a Scranton man following an early morning incident and search on Four Seasons Drive in Beech Mountain Lakes.

Landon D. Davis, 29, of Oak Street in Scranton, has been charged with public drunkenness and similar misconduct in Magisterial District Court.

Officers were dispatched just before 2 a.m. on Thursday after a vehicle was discovered in a ditch.

A witness reported that the individual was “on the run” and in possession of a firearm.

Police interviewed witnesses at the scene and determined the man was Davis and that he had been bleeding and fled into the woods.

A short time later an officer observed Davis who then took off running a second time.

The department’s drone was then used to search for Davis who was located near a storage shed.

Davis, who was intoxicated, showed signs of a head injury and paramedics from Valley Regional EMS responded.

While being transported to the hospital, Davis became combative and and jumped out of the ambulance near the Hazleton City Police Headquarters.

Davis was then taken into custody by Hazleton officers who remained with him in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.

No weapons were located during the investigation.
