Upper Darby police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt said there were three victims taken to hospitals.

Upper Darby Deputy Fire Chief Bill Norris said his department had to extricate two victims.

Bernhardt said two victims were released following being treated at the hospital while a female is still being observed for non-life threatening injuries.

Other passengers in the vehicles were shaken up but not transported.

During the investigation police determined one of the vehicles had been stolen in Delaware. That driver is going to be charged with receiving stolen property as well as traffic violations, Bernhardt said.

West Chester Pike was closed for over an hour as crews handled the cleanup.

Upper Darby, Highland Park, Garrettford Drexel Hill and Llanerch fire stations responded along with Stat and Narberth Ambulance.
