Temple issued a timely warning after two reports of off-campus peeping | NOEL CHACKO / THE TEMPLE NEWS

Temple’s Department of Public Safety and the Philadelphia Police Department are investigating two reports of an individual allegedly peering into off-campus residential windows, Vice President for Public Safety Jennifer Griffin wrote in a statement to the Temple community Monday evening.

The incidents occurred on 17th Street near Montgomery Avenue March 22. The individual is described as a heavyset Black man with shoulder length locs seen wearing a red shirt, gray shorts and white and black sneakers, Griffin wrote. This person was seen leaving in an older model silver Nissan.

The statement was a timely warning issued in compliance with the federal Clery Act to communicate information about events that may be an ongoing threat to the community.

“We recognize that timely warnings like this can be unsettling,” Griffin wrote.  “Anyone in need of support can find it through Tuttleman Counseling Services.”
