William “Bill” A. Queiser, 79, of Pittsburgh, passed away in March 22, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Born February 4, 1947, Bill was raised in Crafton and remained rooted in Pittsburgh throughout his life.
Bill was the son of the late Virginia and Arthur Queiser. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Olivia Palmieri, his sister-in-law Peggy Queiser, and his first wife, Mary Anne Tapparo Queiser.
Bill dedicated 29 years of service to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a member of the Pennsylvania State Police, retiring with the rank of Sergeant. He was deeply proud of his career and the opportunity to serve his community. Bill also served in the United States Army Reserves.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Dona Ceccarelli Queiser; his daughters Jennifer (Steve) Laudenbach and Shelley Queiser; his granddaughter Mary Anne Haun; and his step-grandchildren Zack and Jaelynn Laudenbach. He is also survived by his brother Arthur Queiser and his brother-in-law Mark Palmieri, along with nieces and extended family members. Bill and his family were also grateful for the kindness and friendship of his wonderful neighbors who were always there for him.
Above all, Bill believed that family always came first, and he treasured the time spent with them especially on the many trips they shared. Some of his favorite memories included traveling to Oktoberfest and taking an Alaskan cruise. Though he loved the destinations, he often said the best part of every trip was simply being together.
He enjoyed golf and, just as much, the camaraderie of the 19th hole afterward. He was also a lifelong Pittsburgh sports fan and a devoted Steelers season ticket holder for more than 50 years. At home, he was a lover of animals and cherished his beagles, Oscar and Riley, as well as the many cats that were part of the family over the years.
Despite his long battle with Parkinson’s disease, he never let it define him. Bill maintained his love for life, sense of humor and remarkable resilience, staying true to himself until the very end.
His family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers who supported him in his final months, including AHN Home Health nurse Heather, physical therapist Megan and aide Terry, as well as Courtney, whose kindness, help, and companionship meant so much to Bill and his family.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, March 26, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA, 15317.
