LOWER MERION, PA — A man was arrested on Interstate 76 in Lower Merion Township after authorities say they found crystal methamphetamine in his car.

State Police pulled over a driver for vehicle-code violations around 4:30 p.m. March 11 on I-76 West.

Police say they noticed indicators of criminal activity during the stop. The driver — Fred S. Greenberg, 65, of Loganton — admitted to concealing a pound of meth, authorities said.

Greenberg was taken into custody without incident.

A search revealed additional crystal meth, police said.

Greenberg was processed at the State Police station in Philadelphia and then detained at the Montgomery County Prison.

He was charged with drug offenses, including intent to manufacture or deliver.

A judge set Greenberg’s bail at $99,000 during a March 12 arraignment. Greenberg, unable to post bail, has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Thursday.

Greenberg didn’t have an attorney listed in online court records on Tuesday.
