A 25-year-old Scranton woman sexually abused an 8-year-old boy and filmed it, Lackawanna County detectives said.
Zsionte Owens was caught because TikTok, the social site where her account briefly hosted the explicit video, flagged the content and passed it along to law enforcement, investigators said.
District Attorney Brian Gallagher in a statement called it a “level of depravity rarely seen.”
“The allegations are horrendous and reflect conduct that strikes at the very core of our responsibility to protect children in this community,” Gallagher said.
The video is 3 minutes and 29 seconds long. It shows Owens performing oral sex on a young boy while dancing.
TikTok captured her IP address, which investigators used, along with the phone number associated with Owens’ account, to link the video back to her.
Owens is due back in court April 7 for a preliminary hearing on charges including rape of a child and production of child sexual abuse material.
She is held at the Lackawanna County Prison on $500,000 bail.
