EASTON, Pa. – A Lehigh Valley attorney has been temporarily suspended after facing misdemeanor drug charges for allegedly leaving a Coach bag containing cocaine in juvenile court in 2025.
On Tuesday, Stanley Margle III, 67, was placed on a temporarily suspension, according to a release from the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. Margle previously served as solicitor for Wilson Borough.
According to court documents, Margle was charged on February 19, 2025 with misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police allege he left a Coach bag containing two small baggies of cocaine in the attorney waiting room at the Northampton County Juvenile Justice Center.
A sheriff’s deputy reportedly opened the bag to identify its owner and discovered the drugs inside. Surveillance footage allegedly showed Margle carrying the bag into the waiting room and later leaving without it. Officials say he returned to the juvenile center later that day to retrieve it.
Margle publicly addressed the charges at a February 23, 2025 council meeting, stating he first learned of the incident from a councilmember and acknowledging the damage the situation had caused to his reputation.
“I was embarrassed to tell him I didn’t know anything about it,” Margle said. “He didn’t believe me at first, but later, as we talked, he did.”
The council voted to discuss Margle’s status as solicitor in a private caucus meeting. After approximately 30 minutes, the council returned and decided to table any decisions until more information emerges.
On February 10, 2026, a judge ordered Margle to be paroled to an inpatient treatment facility, according to the Unified Judicial System of Pennsylvania.
