Brady Youngblood was 5 for 5 with three doubles and three RBIs as Dallas opened the season with a 10-0 win at West Scranton on Tuesday afternoon in a nonleague baseball game at West Scranton.
Leadoff hitter Conor Healey had three hits and one run, while Dominick Zangardi had a double and three runs.
Nick Bednar pitched the first four innings, striking out seven and not allowing a hit or a walk. Zangardi came in to pitch the final three innings and allowed one hit, one walk and also struck out seven.
Colin May had a single for West Scranton.
North Pocono 14, Berwick 7: At Berwick, Jake Reese had four hits, including two doubles and a triple, and drove in three runs to help North Pocono pick up a nonleague win.
Cael Hafner had two doubles and two RBIs, while Josh Kalinowski had two hits, including a double, two runs and three RBIs.
Brett Knorr had three hits and scored two runs for Berwick. Frankie Yosh had two hits, including a double, one RBI and one run.
Softball
Dallas 16, Scranton Prep 6 (6 inn.): At the Back Mountain Little League field, the Mountaineers ripped 16 hits and Dallas scored nine in the fourth to pick up the six-inning victory.
Cadance Hudgins had the big bat for Dallas, going 3 for 4 with four RBIs, while Annie Osipower and Madeline Desanto each had three hits. Desanto and Emma Eick each drove in two runs.
Lacey Youngblood picked up the win in relief, allowing just one hit in three innings of work.
Abigail Wilce drove in three runs for Prep, while Emelia Williams finished her night 2 for 3 with two runs.
Crestwood 18, Honesdale 6 (6 inn.): At Honesdale, the Comets finished with 21 hits as Crestwood sent the game into the mercy rule with a seven-run sixth inning.
Alekzandria Dutko was 4 for 5 with three runs and two RBIs. Brianna Petzold drove in six runs, and Celia Stahlnecker, Kayla Sincavage and Jayla Lomerson each had three hits as the Comets had six extra-base hits.
Brooke Lenahan was the winning pitcher, striking out six over five innings.
Kaydence Frampton had three doubles in the loss for Honesdale.
Northwest Area 11, Nanticoke Area 1 (6 inn.): At Northwest, the Rangers hit five home runs and Jenna Robaczewski twirled a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts in the nonleague win.
Ava Ruckle and Natalia Ninotti each hit two home runs, while Robaczewski had the fifth.
Juliana Percival had a home run for the Trojanettes.
Berwick 11, Wilkes-Barre Area 0 (5 inn.): At Wilkes-Barre Area, Berwick scored a combined nine runs over the final two innings as the Bulldogs picked up the win.
Ashlyn Klahold, Lauren Ashworth and Morgan Draschak each had two hits for the Bulldogs as Draschak was 2 for 4 and drove in three runs.
Makayla Brown picked up the win, allowing one hit and striking out seven in five innings.
Kayce Martin had the lone Wilkes-Barre Area hit.
Girls lacrosse
Wyoming Seminary 18, Wyoming Area 3: At Wyoming Seminary, Ellie Kersey scored five goals on six shots, and Nat DeNaples added five goals on seven shots in Wyoming Seminary’s win.
Julia Williams and Ryleigh McDonell each scored twice for the Blue Knights. Mirabaai Reitsma and Sara Williams each had three assists. Emmy Swartz and Cali Gardner each had two assists.
Addison Byers scored two goals for Wyoming Area, while Alana Zdaniewicz scored one.
Lake-Lehman 13, Dallas 11: At Dallas, Olivia Oliver scored four goals and had two assists, while Ady Perlis had four goals and one assist to lead Lake-Lehman to a victory in the Old Stick Game.
Sara Womach and Olivia Corcoran each had two goals for the Black Knights. Corcoran also had an assist. Kate Hynick also had a goal. Cadence Rindock recorded eight saves.Leah Ricardo had six goals for Dallas. Sarah Snowdon scored five.

Crestwood 5, Pittston Area 0: At Pittston Area, the Comets swept the singles matches to pick up their first victory of the season.
Sean Rossi, Spencer Young and Jack Groth were all singles winners, while the team of Jacob Hunsinger-Eric Gee won in three sets.

Nate Linnen won at No. 1 singles for Dallas, while Martin Ortiz was a victor at No. 3 singles for Tunkhannock.

Holy Redeemer 3, Hanover Area 0: At Hanover Twp., Koirey Tang finished with 14 kills, as the Royals swept past Hanover Area in Wyoming Valley Conference volleyball, 25-12, 25-11, 25-14.
Tang added three blocks in the win, while Max Mohutsky added 13 points, two aces, four kills, two blocks, two assists and two digs. Brandon DelBalso finished with nine kills and four blocks, and Jack Wasiakowski contributed 22 assists, six kills, three blocks, three digs and nine points.
Crestwood 3, Wilkes-Barre Area 0: At Crestwood, JJ Stec had 24 kills to lift Crestwood to a three-set win over Wilkes-Barre Area, 25-13, 25-10, 25-19.
Stec added nine digs and three aces in the win, while Zack Koons had 29 assists. Luke Joseph finished with 21 digs and 27 points, and Eric Rinehimer had nine kills.
