SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say a 17-year-old was part of an armed robbery, as well as firing shots in Scranton, Monday evening.
According to the Scranton Police Department, on March 23, officers were called to the 700 block of Pittston Avenue for gunshots and an armed robbery at the US Mini Mart.


Officers said they found the suspect, chased them, and arrested them minutes after the incident.
The suspect, a 17-year-old, entered the store armed, took cash from the register, fled, and then exchanged gunfire with another person, police reported.
Investigators noted the suspect was involved in a prior robbery at the same location in February. The teen faces various robbery charges and gun-related offenses.
