OBITUARY

Janet Marie (nee Brown) Pagano, 90, was born in Allentown PA in 1935 as the oldest of two children born to John (“Jerry”) and Mary (nee Kearney) Brown of Carbondale PA. She passed away peacefully on March 23rd. A graduate of Allentown High School Class of 1953, Janet sang in the Glee Club. In 1955 she married her sweetheart from Roseto PA, Louis Pagano Jr., and was a loving and devoted stay-at-home wife and mother where they raised three girls on the East Side of Allentown – Marianne, Jan, and Dianne – until becoming a much-loved lunchtime waitress at Mahoney’s (Poor Richard’s) on Hanover Avenue for over three decades. Janet and Lou were loyal members of Our Lady Help of Christians Church since the 1960’s, and she was an active member of the Dieruff Booster Club in the 1970s and ‘80s. Janet is predeceased by Lou, her husband of 62 years who passed in 2017, and her beloved sister Carol Ann (Feiertag) Hero who passed in 2007. She is survived by her daughters Marianne, Jan, Dianne (Manges), son-in-law Ted Manges, grandchildren Andrew and Diana, and many adoring nieces and nephews. Janet was an incredibly warm, welcoming, and loving woman who will be deeply missed by the many lives she touched over her long lifetime. Janet’s final years were spent under the caring staff of Parkland Manor and her final days under tender care of Family Pillars Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in Janet’s name to United Way Greater Lehigh Valley. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00AM on Saturday March 28, 2026, at Our Lady Help of Christians Church. Calling Hours will be 9:00-10:40AM at the O’Donnell Funeral Home, in Allentown.
