HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed a bill that would raise the state’s minimum wage for the first time since 2009, moving the proposal to the Senate for further consideration.

The bill would raise the minimum wage from $7.25 per hour to $11 per hour starting next year then to $13 in 2028, and $15 in 2029.

The bill also gives counties the option to adopt a $15 minimum wage sooner.

The bill now moves to the Senate, which has not acted on three previous minimum wage legislations.
