BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Meals on Wheels of the Greater Lehigh Valley (MOWGLV), a nonprofit that provides homebound seniors and adults with disabilities freshly prepared nutritious meals and a daily wellness check, received $15,000 from the 2025-26 Trusted Response Fund.

According to a press release from MOWGLV, part of the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation’s Capacity Building Leadership Grantmaking, the funds from the grant will support the launch of the “Nourishing Neighbors” Rapid Response Meal Program.

“We’re incredibly grateful to the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation and the Trusted Response Fund supporters for investing in programs that meet urgent community needs,” said Dina Kovats-Bernat, Director of Development & Communications at Meals on Wheels of the Greater Lehigh Valley. “This funding allows us to launch the Nourishing Neighbors Program, a collaboration with Valley Health Partners, and respond quickly when patients are screened as food insecure, ensuring they receive immediate nutritional support while connecting them to longer-term resources in the community.”

The Nourishing Neighbors program, a collaboration between MOWGLV and Valley Health Partners Community Health Center, provides immediate nutritional support to patients identified as food-insecure by providing shelf-stable food boxes and connecting individuals to local food pantries for additional support.
