Erie-based companies are getting a boost to grow and innovate thanks to new investments aimed at strengthening the local economy.

On Thursday, leaders with Erie Insurance and Ben Franklin Technology Partners highlighted how that funding is already making an impact.

The announcement came during the Big Checks Celebration, at the same Black Knowledge Center, where officials showcased investments through the Erie Revitalization Investment Fund.

The funding is supporting local companies like Intag Systems and FIXED HHS, helping them expand operations, invest in new technology and create jobs here in Erie.

“It’s really exciting when you invest in a company, and they start accomplishing the things that they said they wanted to accomplish. That’s really awesome, and we do that every day,” said Brian Slawin, director of Ben Franklin Technology Partners.

Organizers said the goal is to give local entrepreneurs the resources they need to scale their businesses while continuing to grow Erie’s innovation economy.
